Race reports

This week saw members of Ron’s Runners taking part in races locally and further afield.



Wednesday 25th May was the Land O’Burns 10k. There were strong runs by James Chalmers (38:25), John Owens (45:43), Pamela Porteous (52:39), Paul McCallum (57:44) and Arlene Wallace (1:02:19).


On Sunday there was an inaugural Eglinton Park trail race. A fantastic performance by James Chalmers earned him a podium position for second place and Jean Stevenson also got in the mix, getting 3rd lady over 40. Well done on what looked like a challenging course.


Also on Sunday it was an opportunity for those who have been training for longer distances to participate in the Ediburgh Marathon. Experienced marathoners Rachel Cox, David Shearer had good runs along with Desmond McPeake, Matthew Watson & Michael Ryan. Special congratulations to Michael Ryan who achieved a marathon pb of 3:09:46 & Matthew Watson who achieved his pb of 3:21


The previous week a few Ronners took part in one of most popular trail races Antonine Trail 10k which is a tough, undulating but very scenic course. Well done to John Owens, Fiona Wyper, Margaret Craig & Lynn Shearer.
